SkyCast Weather ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application SkyCast Weather (the "App").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Location Data

With your permission, the App collects precise (GPS) and approximate (network-based) location data to provide weather forecasts for your current location. Location data is:

• Used only while the App is in use or with your explicit consent
• Processed ephemerally on your device to query weather data from the Open-Meteo API
• Never stored, logged, or transmitted to our servers
• Never shared with third parties

You can revoke location permission at any time via your device settings.

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

The App integrates Google AdMob for advertising. AdMob may automatically collect:

• Device advertising ID (resettable by the user)
• Device type, operating system version, and network type
• General location (non-precise, at IP-address level)
• Ad interactions (clicks, impressions)

This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.

2. How We Use Information

We use the collected information solely for:

• Providing accurate weather data for your location via the Open-Meteo API
• Displaying relevant advertisements through AdMob
• Improving app functionality and user experience

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Open-Meteo API — Provides weather forecast data. Your location coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo solely to retrieve weather data for that location. Open-Meteo does not store or track individual users. Learn more.
• Google AdMob — Serves advertisements. AdMob's data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Learn more.
• MapLibre — Provides interactive map tiles. No personal data is transmitted to MapLibre.

4. Data Retention

We do not store any personal data on our servers. Location data is processed on-device and discarded immediately after the weather query. No account creation is required to use the App.

5. Data Deletion

You can delete all locally stored data at any time by:

• Going to your device's Settings > Apps > SkyCast Weather > Storage > Clear Data
• Or uninstalling the App, which will remove all locally stored data

Since we do not store any data on our servers, there is no server-side data to delete. All weather data, preferences, search history, and alerts are stored locally on your device and are automatically removed when you clear app data or uninstall.

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data during transmission, including HTTPS encryption for all API communications.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access information we hold about you
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of personalized advertising (via device settings)
• Withdraw location consent at any time

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App and this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
